Download Cards Vs. CDsEveryone will receive 30 CDs or Download cards. You may keep one for yourself, and you will need to sell the other 29 CD/Download Cards.
I need you to decide how many of each type would prefer. All CDs? All Download Cards? 50/50? It may be worth asking friends and family members now which type they would prefer so we can be smart about our licensing/manufacturing. Last year, some of you mentioned that friends and family preferred the CD because of the artwork/photos. Would you say that is true this year? If you are a veteran, what were your percentages last year? I know that many of you said you preferred download cards, but in the end, needed more CDs. Give this some thought and be prepared to provide some feedback in class on Tuesday as to which way you want to go. |
CD Baby/Dropcards/ProCardsWe have used CD Baby in the past for digital downloads, but there are other platforms out there, including Dropcard, ProCard and others. Is there a better platform? CD Baby seems to be the most widely used, but I seem to recall some of you saying that people did not want to have to sign up for a CD Baby account just to download the CD. I don't think you have to sign up for an account with Dropcard or ProCard.
If you have used a specific type of download card and can recommend it, or if you have any suggestions, please email me ASAP. I am in the process of licensing the album now. 20 Email AddressesDon't forget: Everyone needs to email me 20 email address of people you would like to receive an invitation to attend the showcase. These were due on Friday, but I will extend until next Friday. These need to be people who are NOT already on the BA mailing list. Please don't list family members or alums, they will receive the mailing.
